Hej! 7 months passed since I moved to Sweden, such a beautiful country with very nice people. I love it.

My process with seeing a doctor, getting MRI etc went very smooth in Sweden as I was already diagnosed in my home country 10 years ago.
My doctor here in Sweden decided to switch my meds due to a very high activity in MRI results. I have been on Rebif since 10 years now and he says that I need to change it asap. I chose Mavenclad between Rituximab
      and Mavenclad options.
I was wondering if any of you had Rebif as first medication and then switched to Mavenclad after using rebif long time.
      Any experiences as such?

Ps. My relapses were always optic neuritis, in total had 5 relapses.

Good luck with your journey and stay strong! 🙂

The Rebif to Mavenclad switch does not seem to be that common. However it should be a smooth transition.

It is very good that you will get a more powerful medication so that your inflammation can be stopped as soon as possible.

MS care in general is very good in Sweden and you seem to be in good hands!

      Welcome!

      Hi Qbert,

Thanks for the reply. Why you thought it was not that common to switch from Rebif to Mavenclad? What is the usual type of switch as per your experiences?

Well, it was just a fairly qualified guess. Rebif is a older medication and mavenclad is fairly new. So most of the Rebif patients in Sweden are either fine on Rebif or have since long moved on to Tysabri or rituximab.

Most patients that get a MS diagnosis in Sweden start with Tysabri, mavenclad or rituximab. Rebif, Avonex etc are not that common anymore and have, as far as i know, been replaced with pill form drugs like Tecfidera.
